about

A collection of audio and video recordings by progressive eccentrics Patto at the top of their game. Never before released recording of the band rocking and looning at the Torrington in London at the beginning of 1973, plus their surviving TV appearances. The Pattos showcase their virtuosity and eclecticism as they perform most of their (then current) third album, Roll 'Em Smoke 'Em, to a delighted but small crowd. Includes "I'm Baroque", a Halsall composition that was never released, about their shortened time supporting Joe Cocker in Australia. There is previously unreleased footage from French TV's 'Pop Deux' as well as German TV's 'Beat Club' with blistering performances of "San Antone" and "The Man" - a song featured in the film Observe and Report. These historical recordings are a valuable treasure for a band whose legacy only continues to grow.

"...historic importance of hearing this seminal band, accommodating the once-in-an-epoch brilliance of guitarist Ollie Halsall, jocularly doing what they did in front of an audience that hopefully realised how lucky they were." -Record Collector

"This album really is a time machine that takes you back to the magical 70s when the pubs were always full on a Saturday night and you could go and see a fine band and stagger home to watch Match Of The Day on TV with the sound of the band still buzzing in your ears. Yes indeed, this album manages to conjure up all those feelings of the true magic of music." -Monolith Cocktail
